24 Jan Why Painting Company Reviews Matter
Reviews get a bad rap sometimes. There’s so many sites out there that offer them, and there’s so many people in our industry that “fake” their reviews. It can be frustrating as a consumer, we hear that quite a bit.
Below are some of the most trusted review sites when you’re choosing a painting contractor. These sites are trusted for a few reasons. First, they offer real insights from real people. Not nameless, faceless quotes. Second, they have protocols in place that make it difficult to leave fake reviews – or at least, bulk fake reviews.
Reading other people’s reviews is faster than going out and interviewing a bunch of companies in person. It helps you whittle a large list down to a “top two or three” pretty quickly. Most importantly, it helps ensure that you’ll be satisfied with your end result.
With that said, here’s a list of sites that you can trust.
ANGIE’S LIST
Angie’s List is probably the most trusted resource for hiring local service companies. We have more than 160 reviews at the time of publishing this post. We are also a multi-year Angie’s List Award winner, 6 years running to be exact. We maintain a straight “A” rating, and below is a sample of what a few people have had to say:
“We had 4 different companies out, and Neighborhood Painting was by far the best. They spent time explaining what they’re do, and Ryan was patient with all my questions. I liked that they have 2 crews, one for prep work, and one for painting. It gave us time to check out all the prep work and repairs before it was painted. Great company, reasonable price, highly recommended!”
Here’s another gem, which is not that uncommon for us to hear unfortunately:
“Amidst 3 mis-fires on estimates, call backs, delays, and unreturned calls from other painters, we contacted Neighborhood Painting from Angie’s List. We arranged for an estimate and it was done on the day scheduled. Their prompt bid was twice that of other painters but in view of the glowing reviews and very detailed statement of work to be done, we gulped and signed a contract. Bottom line, we are very, very happy with the results. They sent a “paint consultant” to advise on colors(prevented us from choosing a fadable color) … extremely worthwhile. Their prep crew was outstanding …. hard-working, thorough, and courteous. On Day 1 we knew we had made a good investment. They recommended re-glazing on 8 windows at a reasonable price and we agreed. The prep crew worked a solid 3 days. The paint crew was the same and clean up was also thorough. Based on our experience, you can’t go wrong with these guys. Money well spent – you get what you pay for.”
GOOGLE MY BUSINESS
Business reviews on Google are also quite valuable. They have changed their moderation practices and it’s now harder for companies to manufacture “fake” reviews to pump up their overall star rating. Right now, we have more than 50 reviews and a perfect 5 star rating. Here’s a sample:
“Our 29-year old house needed some siding replaced, paint and some deck work. We love our house and wanted the best. Neighborhood Painting is top-notch. They aren’t the cheapest, but never has “You get what you pay for” been more true. We were very happy with the process from start to finish. All of the guys, from the owner on down, show up on time and do first-rate work. We would not hesitate to recommend them to our friends and neighbors and would definitely use them again.”
Here’s another exuberant customer review you’ll find on that page:
“We are thrilled with this company!! We had EXTENSIVE wood rot that they expertly repaired. They were meticulous with every detail, making sure to seal our house before painting. They were all pleasant and hard working, and extremely professional. Ryan treats your house like it’s HIS house, providing the very best service. We’ve had lousy painters before and it’s always nerve-wracking to trust the process again. Do yourself a favor and eliminate the worry–hire Neighborhood Painting! You won’t regret it! Our house looks gorgeous!!”
Of course, social platforms have their own review options. Facebook, naturally, is an easy place to look for reviews while you’re browsing on your phone in your free time. 21 of our 24 reviews currently on Facebook are 5 star reviews. Those that aren’t 5 stars did not leave feedback of any sort (or we’d address it specifically).
PORCH
Another (newer) outlet for reviews is Porch. It’s in its infancy, but we do have 9 perfect reviews on this page currently also.
In short, reviews really do matter for all the reasons stated above. Anyone can walk into your home and give you a good story. But those that back it up have testimonials to show for it. If you’re in the market for a superior house painting experience, please contact us today via the short form on the right of this post, or call us at (913) 709-6151. We’d be happy to add you to our long list of happy customers!
